The "Kostis Palamas" Building and Cultural Centre of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is located in the neo-classical building (Academias St. 48) that was erected in 1857 and named after the Greek famous poet Kostis Palamas, who acted as General Secretary of the University (1897-1928).  It got renovated in 1981 and in 1985, the building’s current function was inaugurated in order to house the University Community Hall.  It is also used as a cultural centre to host events such as conjectural exhibitions, lectures addressed to small audiences, round tables, conferences and symposia.
