INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF CHRISTIAN-ORTHODOX THEOLOGY (2024)

INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS

CHRISTIAN-ORTHODOX THEOLOGY IN THE 21st CENTURY. CHALLENGES AND PERSPECTIVES.

The School of Theology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) is organising an International Congress of Christian-Orthodox Theology in Athens, 24-28 November 2024, under the aegis of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece.

Following the previous International Theological Congresses held in Athens during the 20th century (1936 and 1976), the aim of this Congress is to highlight the multi-faceted issues and problems which concern Christian-Orthodox theology on a planetary, pan-Orthodox, scale in the 21st century.

His All-Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, will deliver the Opening Address of the Congress in the Great Hall of the historic Central Building of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In the following days, a plethora of Christian-Orthodox academic theologians and preeminent ecclesiastical figures from Greece and abroad will participate as keynote speakers in the main sessions and workshops of the Conference, which will be hosted in various historic facilities of the University of Athens.
